Chinbayar 3D project

Anderson final

After many attempts I think I found photos I am satisfied with. Instead of using different backgrounds, I decided to add color to make the words pop more! I wanted to show a progression to reading the quote clearly.

"You may think I'm small, but there is a universe in my mind" -Yoko Ono

After many attempts, I finally got the water to do something. I bought syringes to write the words with but after very little applied pressure, the syringe would spray water everywhere. I attempted to do this probably just under 100 times. I dropped some black india ink in the water. I had a great effect on one of my first tries, but I couldn't bring myself redo it after it ended up like this.

Asher Covillon Final

To me, one of my favorite feelings is a fresh pair of shoes. From the fresh out the box smell to the feel on your feet, the second you lace them up, it gives an unparalleled sense of invigoration that's impossible to forget. For some it's more serious than others. I clearly have a shoe problem, and its one of the best problems to have. It's not about having the most shoes, but loving what you have and wearing and buying what you like. The phrase "I got sole" resonates with me because every single pair is like walking back in time. It's a sense of nostalgia that only gets better with time. Some can just easily write them off as just being shoes but it's so much more. It's a lifestyle and there is entire community of people out there who share the same passion. Each pair is a a byproduct of hardwork. Hours spent hustling to make enough money to buy the shoes in the first place, hours and even years spent searching for that pair you've been looking for in your size, and even hours spent camping out to ensure getting a release that is extremely limited. It's more than shoes, it's a passion. I know I got sole, do you?

Leung - 3D Type Final

Well in the end I had to completely change my concept for what the type would represent. I had been searching around my apartment for objects to be used, when I realized just how many books I had acquired through the years. Following this, I remembered that we were going to have a library opening soon in our neighborhood and I decided to do a refresher for those old READ posters that used to hang around everywhere. I initially added in serifs to the letters so that they would take up a little more space (seen in the top photo), but as I adjusted the piece I came to like the san-serif look of the typeface even more. The separation and placement of the individual letters in the final two shots are used to add to the unsettled character of the piece, pushing the typographic form and reader to a certain extent. I had really hoped to create a aesthetically pleasing book typeface project, as I had never really seen one made from the spines of books (only the tops and bottoms of pages). Hopefully you guys like the finished product!
